Lou Flower has supported Landcare and other environmental projects, managing sign-ons, planting trees, overseeing works, taking on whatever needed to be done over many many years!
Lou has been an integral part of Wingecarribee Shire Council’s long established Schools Environment Day, encouraging children to work together and better protect our Environment. He was also a foundation member of CANWin (Climate Action Now Wingecarribee) now Winzero (Wingecarribee Net Zero Emissions) and Southern Highland Regen Ag. Lou was a member of many of the Shire’s environmental groups and was regularly spotted at events throughout the Highlands promoting Landcare.
Lou retired as our long-term treasurer and public membership officer in 2024 when he moved out of the Shire. He kept us up to date with everything financial, he made sure the forms that needed to be completed and submitted, were completed and submitted.
Lou was well versed in auspicing grants through our organisation which help liked minded community organisations access funding for their activities. He left us in a strong financial position, ready to take on our next environmental pursuits.
We wish to recognise Lou’s dedication to Southern Highlands Landcare Network through awarding him our SHLN first Life Membership.
